Privacy policy

The short version

• You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or payment details.
• Your trip searches are calculated in your browser. The cities, dates and budgets you enter are not sent to us.
• When you click a flight or hotel link, you go to a partner's website, and their privacy policy applies there.

What is stored on your device

We save one setting in your browser's local storage: your light or dark theme choice, so the site looks the way you chose next time. It never leaves your device. Your trip inputs are kept in the page address (so you can share a result) and nowhere else.

Hosting

wholetripcost.com is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We don't receive these logs to identify visitors.

Visitor statistics

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to count page views and clicks on booking links. It uses no cookies, doesn't track you across websites and doesn't store your IP address. We only see totals, never who you are.

Partners and affiliate links

Trip Cost Planner earns a commission from some partners when you book through our links, at no extra cost to you. These partners are involved:

• Travelpayouts (affiliate network). Its script loads on our pages to track partner links and may use cookies or similar technologies.
• Aviasales (flights). When you click "See flights", you leave our site for Aviasales, which records that the visit came from us.
• Stay22 (hotel map). The map is loaded from Stay22 and shows offers from booking sites such as Booking.com. Clicking an offer takes you to that site.

These companies process data under their own privacy policies. Please read them on their websites before booking.

Your choices

• You can use the calculator and explorer without clicking any partner link.
• You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; the site keeps working.
• Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or Morocco), you have rights to access and delete personal data. As we don't collect personal data ourselves, requests about a booking should go to the booking site you used.
